Dawn Richard - Faith

June 1, 2012
Extremely enjoyable listen.
I’ve liked Dawn Richard’s work since her stint with Diddy’s Dirty Money, but with this solo EP entitled Armor On, she’s really looking to break out on her own. The entire sound picks right up from Last Train To Paris, which is not a bad thing at all. The Electro Pop/R&B hybrid works for her, as her vocals shine on tracks like “Black Lipstick” and the party-starting “Bombs”.
My personal favorite, “Faith” is a solid post-dub ballad that builds throughout and ends in fist-pumping fashion. I highly recommend this as it’s one of the better releases I’ve heard this year.

Chris Faust - A Villain’s Tale

Okay, I’m gonna write a little testimonial on this. One of my favorite songs this year as the young Brooklyn emcee pours his doubts, goals, and curiosities on this smooth,  key-driven track. I share a close connection to it as it’s one of those songs in which I ACTUALLY FEEL the words delivered in the short three minutes on here.

Chris Faust is one of my personal favorite rappers currently and his music has always been quality, getting better with each release. The VILLAIN Trilogy is looking to be some of his best work to date, continuing with the Comic Books theme. While that alone gets my attention, it’s the honesty, solid storytelling, and intricate lyricism that pulls me in even further.

It’s a Hip-Hop song I feel that every rap fiend can enjoy.

How can I pour her out the world, but can’t afford bottles?"
